Business Capital Advisors
Business Loans
Term capital for growth, expansion, and working capital.
Fixed-term funding for a clear purpose, repaid on a predictable schedule. We place term loans through our lender partners, and arrange SBA 7(a), 504, and Express through SBA-approved lenders where the timeline fits.
Is this the right product?
Structured around your business, not a one-size offer.
It fits when
- A single, well-defined expense with a payback horizon you can name: an expansion, a buyout, a large equipment package, a renovation
- Businesses with 2+ years of history and consistent revenue that can support a fixed monthly payment
- Owners who value payment predictability over speed
Look elsewhere when
- Gaps that need money this week; bank and SBA underwriting is measured in weeks
- Uneven, seasonal cash flow that a fixed monthly payment would stress
How to qualify
- Typically 2+ years in business (online lenders may accept 1+)
- Owner credit usually 650+ for bank terms, lower for online term lenders
- Revenue that supports the payment, generally verified from bank statements and tax returns
What you'll need
- 3 to 6 months of business bank statements
- Most recent business tax return (banks and SBA: 2 years, plus financials)
- Driver's license and voided check
Cost and timeline
Illustrative example: a $100K term loan at 12% APR over 4 years is a fixed payment of about $2,633 per month and roughly $126,400 repaid in total. Bank and SBA pricing is lower; online term pricing is higher and faster.
Online term lenders can issue offers in days. Banks typically take 2 to 8 weeks. SBA 7(a) runs 30 to 90 days from application to funding because of the government guarantee process. We tell you which track your file fits before you commit to a timeline.
Figures on this page are illustrative estimates only and are not an offer of financing. All amounts, rates, factor rates, terms, payment amounts, timelines, and qualification criteria vary by lender, depend on funder underwriting and your business's bank statement history, and are subject to change without notice. Nothing here is guaranteed until a funder issues terms and you sign them. Factor rates do not represent APR. Commera is a broker, not a lender, and does not set rates.
Common questions
Business Loans, answered straight.
What credit score do I need for a business term loan?
Bank term loans usually want owner credit of 650+ and SBA lenders look for similar or better. Online term lenders go lower, often into the low 600s, in exchange for higher pricing. Stronger revenue and clean bank statements can offset a middling score.
How much can I borrow with a term loan?
Our lender panel places term loans from roughly $25K-$5M. SBA 7(a) tops out at $5M, and the sweet spot for most files is $100K-$500K, sized against the revenue that will carry the payment.
How long does term loan approval take?
Online term lenders can issue offers in days. Banks typically run 2-8 weeks, and SBA 7(a) runs 30-90 days end to end because of the government guarantee process. We tell you which track your file fits before you commit.
Do term loans require collateral?
It depends on the lender and size. Online term loans are often unsecured with a personal guarantee. Banks may want a blanket lien, and SBA lenders must take available collateral on loans above $50K, though a collateral shortfall alone should not sink an otherwise strong SBA file.
